I wasn't the type to believe in E.T. or anything. In fact, I was a major
skeptic (This is what it's like in all the books,Huh?). Anyway, I was
having a crappy day. I wasn't a genius or anything,a nd there had been a
important Math quiz I had COMPLETELY forgotten to study for. And, my
Science project was wrecked by a bunch of kids on the bus. After school, I
had football. Great. Of all the sports to be stuck with, football. I was the
only girl in a family of six and my dad wanted me to get "more
involved". My brothers were star athletes. Me, I'd rather spend my time
reading than falling in wet grass and kicking a stupid leather ball.
Anyway, I got to the field,and Coach Richards said I was late. Was
staying to apologize to a kid and the teacher 'cause I had yelled at the
stupid kid an excuse? So, I got on my 3 tons of pads and stuff and went
out onto the field. As usual, Nothing ever happened near me. Once, the ball
nearly knocked my leg off 'cause some jerk threw a power throw in
totally the wrong direction. By the end of the game I was bruised and had
to walk home because my mom had to work late. And Coach gave me a little
talk about swearing. I HATED high school! Well as I was walking home all
muddy, I kinda heard this noise in the distance. I wasn't really paying
attention. Then something was On me. It was HUGE! The wierdest thing was, It
looked exactly like the flying saucers the crazy people who claimed to
be abducted by aliens described when they were interviewed. I just stood
there for a minute, dumbfounded. Then I ran. I mean I really RAN! You know
how scientists say that, in extreme need, the human body will extend
itself to it's edge? Well, they're right. I was like ZOOM!!! But, of course, I
couldn't outrun a flying saucer, so eventually they landed right over me
and got me into their ship. I'm not sure how. I it was like a mix between
a tractor beam and a and "beaming people up" like on star trek. Any
how, all of a sudden I was inside this giant cage, like with Plastisteel
on three sides and a force field in front. I could not see my captors, but
I started screaming. Real loud. But I guess they didn't have ears or
something like that, because they didn't respond. Whoever they were. I half
expected to see little green men on a course to Mars. I could feel the
ship moving, and after who-knows-how-long it stopped. Then another person
tractor beamed up into a cage next to mine. Also, I could see a bright
glowing sphere which tha aliens seemed to be very interested in. They
looked like big insects with lotsa feet and lotsa antennae. There was one
who had legs like a foal, a sorta-human head, and 2 eyes. The ship started
to move again, this time up and up and up.Suddenly we weren't moving
anymore. "It's because we're outta the atmosphere,stupid." the other guy
muttered. So. Here I was on a flying saucer with aliens from
who-knows-where, and a rude guy, leaving Earth. Earth. I was very
afraid. Would, I wondered, be returned home like the people on t.v? Or was I
doomed to live in a cage like this forever?
