Part One: The Slayer
By: Mega
When all else fails, face the fear, and fight back...
~Mega, Age 24~
<Early-2012>
"Maybe you shouldn't have set off the nuke, Mega." My friend, the Ellimist, said to me.
I nodded, that had been my one mistake, the blowing up of the nuke in the Earth's mantle. I thought it would be my only choice. I was wrong.
"Ellimist, go back to the past, now. You need to warn Mega. We need to save the future, and the past.
~Mega, Age 15~
<Early-2002>
My name is Mega. Okay, so it might not be my name. Okay, so it is not my name at all. Who cares? There is a lot more you should worry about than why my name "is" Mega, and why I'll never tell you my last name or where I live. The reason is that if I do a slimy gray slug would slide itself through my ear canal. I know. It has happened to me.
The slugs are called Yeerks. They have taken control of many species, including the Taxxons, the Gedds, and the Hork-Bajir. Who fights these monsters? The Animorphs, a word made up as an abbriviation for animal morphers. How do I know this? Well, I used to be an Animorph for a time. The time being for about one day.
Okay, it has been a couple years or so since I was an Animorph, and one night when I sat watching the stars and the moon outside, he came again. He being the Ellimist who brought me back to my Earth when I was in another dimension.
A blue mist swirled and he took on a more humanoid form. He looked like a Smurf. A tall Smurf.
"Greetings, Mega," he said.
"Okay, what do I have to do now, Ellimist?" I mumbled.
"You don't have to do anything..." he said.
"Oh yeah, I forgot. You don't interfere with our lives, right?" I asked him.
"Correct," he said with a grin.
"So what would you like me to do?" I asked, getting slightly mad.
"Come, Mega. There is some explaining in need," he said, walking off into the woods. "There isn't much time."
I followed him, all the while trying to figure out wht he meant.
A silver sword flew, spinning, through the air. I jumped up and grabbed the handle by instinct.
"Good job!" the Ellimist said, grinning.
"Wait, you threw this!?" I screamed at him.
"Yes, and I know you are ready now. Put this on," he replied, handing me a belt with two dracon lasers and six golden daggers.
"Ooookay. What am I? Your warrior or something?" I asked.
"Correct again, Mega. The world needs your help. The Animorphs have been captured in this time. The Yeerk invasion is being sped up. You must go back in time and protect them from ever being infested," the Ellimist recited.
"Wait a second, you just said that I must go back in time," I said, smiling at the Ellimist's choice in words.
"Oh shut up, Mega," he mumbled, holding out a blue cube and a white sphere. "Here, touch the cube and the sphere. The cube is for morphing and the sphere is...well, for going back and forth in time."
I touched the cube, then I touched the sphere. I was now trying to save the whole planet. I was ready!
~Sub-Visser 43~
<Early-1999>
I am Sub-Visser 43, formally known as Renssil 7611 of the Shree Tull pool. I am an almighty Yeerk. I would like to say now that I have a human host, a morph-capable human host. His name was Jack, but now he is known as "Sub-Visser 43's host."
I will soon be a Visser, I know that. The Council of Thirteen didn't know that I had morph-capabilities, they gave me the Sub-Visser designation because I managed to black out two Andalites and a Hork-Bajir and make them think they were dead before we infested them.
I heard a rumor that I might get the Andalite known as Nepten as a host. My host before this was the brother of Kam Shar, the captured Hork-Bajir.
<Yeerk filth! Get out of my head!> my host screamed.
<Not likely, human. I enjoy morphing and I would not like to lose the power just because I was nice,> I hissed.
Jack went quiet. I could tell that he was angry, and that was good. It made him easier to control.
"Hello Sub-Visser 24," I said to the Yeerk with a human host known as Sean.
"Hello to you as well, Sub-Visser 43," he replied. "You have been twitching your face, you must control your host. These 'Animorphs' are strong and determined, I'm sure that we will have trouble when we try to take control of the first group of them."
I nodded, due to the fact that we were able to obtain information from the humans, we learned that they were given the morphing ability by other humans.
<Okay Renssil,> Jack growled, hissing my original name. <You have been my host for, what, a month? Two?>
<I have been your host for two months, what does that matter?> I mumbled.
<The secret weapon, you don't know about it then. Niether do I, but one of the original Animorphs told me about it. You're going to lose, Yeerk. We will be free!> he cried.
I rolled his eyes, it was pathetic. He must have gone psycho. Yeah, that was it, psycho, nothing to worry about. I hoped.
<Ha, you're scared, you slimy slug,> Jack laughed.
And I was...
~Nepten-Marcray-Saytarn~
<Early-1999>
<You okay, Nepten?> Makkess-Perril-Omnious asked me. <The Hork-Bajir guard knocked you out.>
<I know, I was there, remember?> I asked, slightly grumply.
"Hey Andalite filth, I have a friend of yours that would like to see you." Sub-Visser 27 said with a laugh, pulling up Tarpek-Lerrip-Shabayne.
<Tarpek!> Makkess cried. <You're okay!>
Tarpek laughed, <Call me Visser Six.>
<No...it can't be true...> Makkess whispered in awe.
<Face it, you weakling, it's true,> Visser Six hissed.
They left, and Makkess was sobbing, <Noooo!> she cried. <Noooo!>
I lowered my stalk eyes to the ground, wishing for revenge on what the Yeerks did.
~Mega, Age 15~
<Late-1998> I slam into the ground on my back, having just used the powers of the white sphere to go back in time to the time of the second Animorphs.
"Ouch! That hurt!" I moaned, rubbing my back.
"I know something that'll hurt even more," came the voice from behind me.
I spun around, standing there was a kid who looked to be my age. He had purple hair and goldish eyes. he stood about six feet tall and held a long, wide, gray sword made of metal. The hilt was bound in a material that looked like leather.
"Who are you?" I asked, noticing about six kids, who looked to be about 12 or 13, running through the woods that I was in.
"You can call me Slate," he said, spinning his sword in the air.
"Okay, uhm, hi Slate, I'm Mega," I said, for lack of another greeting.
"I know who you are, so, I finally meet Mega, the almighty Yeerk Slayer, eh?" Slate asked.
"Yeerk Slayer?" I wondered aloud.
"Yeah, Yeerk Slayer," he said, jumping through the air and swinging his sword at me, the blade was deadly and sharp.
I quickly grabbed the hilt of my silver sword and pulled it out, blocking the blow with my own blade and backing up.
Slate growled and lunged at me again, and again, I blocked the blow and jumped up, grabbing a tree branch and pulling myself up.
"Anger is a weakness, Mega," the Ellimist whispered in my mind.
I nodded, swinging down and kicking Slate in the back, "What is your problem!?" I exclaimed.
"You'll find out soon enough," he hissed, slicing into my leg, leaving a cut near my ankle.
"Arrrrrgggghh!" I moaned, falling backwards. "What did you do that for!?"
I pulled my head up to look, but Slate was gone. I looked at the muddy ground, Slate's footprints led to the path that the kids were taking.
"Oh man..." I began. On the same path, about thirty Hork-Bajirs and Taxxons stormed along.
I crept alongside the path, safely hidden behind a bush or tree. A Hork-Bajir was slow, he was panting heavily, falling back behind the others by several yards, and more.
I took out a golden dagger slowly from my belt, pulling it back.
I put my hand on it's bladed head, concentrating to aquire it. I felt it's DNA become part of me. I yanked out my dagger and ran to the woods, where I went back two minutes before I killed it, so it had no memory of what I had done.
I began to morph the Hork-Bajir, it was weird. First of all, my skin began to crackle and become a weird shade of green. Horns shot out of my head, three of them, followed by horns at my elbows and wrists. Then came the tail.
"Mega, wait, I need to explain something to you!" the Ellimist cried out.
"Wuh?" I asked as my teeth sucked up inside my gums and my lips hardened, becoming a beak.
"We, meaning all of us, are playing a dark game...I suppose it is like chess. Yes, it is like chess. The Ellmists are the white peices while the Crayak are the black ones, the Animorphs, Andalites, and all the others who fight the Yeerks: they are the pawns on the Ellimist team in this game. The Yeerks are the black pawns. But you, Mega. You are a white Knight. Slate is a black Knight, that is why he was attacking you. You must win this game for the fate of the universe! the Ellimist cried.
By that time the morph was finished, <A Knight? I'm a Knight?> I wondered aloud.
I waited for a response but the Ellimist was gone. I stood up tall and began my loping run down the path. My only hope was to get to the kids before the Yeerks or Slate did...
~Ultra~
<Late-1998> My name is Chris. Chris Parker. But no, now my name is Ultra. Hey, I know it sounds dumb but so does the name Mega, right? Anyway, I stood on a high, thick branch of a tree, watching the six kids run down a dirt path in the woods. I gripped my sword tightly, because I knew who was nearby. It called itself 3-KD-21397, it was an android sent to stop me from my mission. I am one of the Ellimist's warriors.
I jumped down from the tree and flew through the air. After what seemed like an eternity, I landed on my feet on the path.
"Hey you!" I yelled at the kids.
The six kids stopped and looked at me, I could tell that one of them, a brown haired girl known as Jessie, had been crying.
"There's an ambush up there," I said, pointing the way they were going. "A Yeerk ambush. You must go through the forest."
One of them, a blonde haired boy known as Sean, nodded. "Come on, this way!" he yelled, leading them through some trees and into the dense forest.
Five minutes later they were out of sight. But I remained there.
<Halt human,> a voice said from behind me. I turned around.
Standing infront of me was a tall, gangly creature. It stood about seven or eight feet tall, had a huge, balloon like head with three eyes, had two slits for a nose, and a wide, evil grin. It's arms and legs were bony. The creature was purplish-blue with...well, I guess it was dark green hair on it's head. I know what you're thinking, but it wasn't the android. I had never seen anything like this thing.
"What the heck?" I asked.
<I am a Sreelin, fool. You are a prisoner now,> he growled, as if I should know the names of every alien race in the whole, stupid galaxy.
"Whatever," I said, then he led me into the opposite side of the woods. I guess I was lucky, because I got out of there just before the Yeerks paraded up the path...
~Mega, Age 15~
<Warped to Early-1999> <Who are you?> I asked.
<I am Makkess-Perril-Omnious, and this is Nepten-Marcray-Saytarn,> one of them said.
<Well, follow me, I can get you out of here,> I told them, not knowing what I was saying.
I smashed open the lock with one of my wrist blades.
<Trust me,> I whispered. I led them towards the stairs. They were fully in human morph as we got there. No one seemed to notice they were gone!
I demorphed in the shadows.
"A human?" one of them whispered to the other.
"Just...be...quiet," I said, looking around cautiously.
Suddenly, one of the two Andalite controllers disappeared. Then six of the human controllers.
Someone must have freed the second Animorph generation, I thought.
"Yes," I heard the hissing voice behind me, as if someone read my mind.
I turned around to see Slate's face.
"But who will save you?" he smiled slightly as he drew his wickedly curved dagger....
